Privacy Policy
How Respone collects, uses, and protects your information — written plainly, because your conversations are yours. We do not sell your data and we run no ad networks.
Who we are
Respone is a secure super-app for private messaging, AI-noise-cancelled voice and video calls, and a voice AI agent that can act on your behalf across the tools you connect. This policy applies to the Respone mobile and web apps and the backend that powers them.
Questions, requests, or privacy concerns? Reach the Respone team any time at respone.ai@gmail.com. This document explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and the controls you have.
What we collect
We collect only what is needed to deliver the service you use:
- Account information — your phone number, display name, and profile photo, used to create your account and let your contacts find you.
- Messages & call metadata — the content of messages you send and call metadata (participants, timestamps, and duration) that we process and store to deliver, sync, and reconnect your conversations across your devices.
- Agent memory you enable— if you turn on the assistant’s memory, we store the notes and preferences you explicitly ask it to remember. Memory is optional, off unless you enable it, and can be cleared at any time.
- Device & push tokens — device identifiers and push notification tokens (for example, Apple APNs) so we can ring your calls and deliver notifications.
We do not sell your data, and there is no ad network anywhere in Respone. Your conversations are never the product.
Google user data
Connecting a Google account is entirely optional. If you choose to connect one, Respone requests only the scopes listed below and uses them only to perform the specific action you ask the assistant to do — nothing more:
gmail.sendSend email on your behalf. We cannot read your inbox — this scope grants sending only.Google CalendarSee and create events, and generate Google Meet links, when you ask.Google DocsCreate, read, and update documents when you ask.Google SheetsCreate, read, and update spreadsheets when you ask.Google Contacts (read-only)Read your contacts so the agent can find who you want to reach.Google TasksCreate and manage your tasks.
Google Limited Use
Respone’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your Google tokens are stored server-side; encrypting them at rest is our standard. We never share your Google data with third parties, never use it for advertising or to train AI models, and never sell it. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Connections inside Respone, or from your Google Account permissions page. Revoking immediately stops all access and deletes the stored tokens.
How we use your data
We use the data above to:
- Operate messaging and calls — route and sync your chats, and establish crystal-clear voice and video sessions with AI noise cancellation.
- Run the AI agent’s actions you request — place and schedule calls, send email, and manage your calendar, docs, sheets, and tasks when you ask.
- Keep the service safe and reliable — prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and maintain security.
To fulfil a request, the content you provide may be processed by AI providers (for example, OpenAI) only to perform that specific request. They receive only what is needed for the task, and we do not use your content for advertising.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the sub-processors strictly required to run Respone, and each receives only what its function needs:
- Our self-hosted infrastructure — the servers that carry your messages and calls.
- AI provider(s)— to power the assistant’s understanding and actions, limited to the request at hand.
- Google APIs — only when you connect Google, and only for the actions you ask for.
- Push-notification services — such as Apple APNs, to ring calls and deliver alerts.
We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and never allow it to be used to build advertising profiles.
How we protect it
- Self-hosted infrastructure — calling and messaging run on our own servers, not an unauditable third party.
- Server-side keys only — provider credentials and AI keys stay on the server; the app never handles a secret.
- Short-lived, membership-bound call tokens — access tokens are scoped to the exact conversation and expire quickly, so they cannot wander.
- Encryption in transit — connections between your device and Respone are protected with TLS.
Retention & your rights
You are in control of your data. You can:
- Access the information associated with your account.
- Disconnect any connection in Settings → Connections, which revokes and deletes the stored tokens for that service.
- Delete your account, which removes your messages, agent memory, and connected-service tokens from our systems.
We retain data only for as long as needed to provide the service or to meet legal obligations, and then delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email respone.ai@gmail.com.
Children
Respone is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age of consent applies), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact respone.ai@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will notify you in the app.
Have a question about your privacy or this policy? We would genuinely like to hear from you — reach us at respone.ai@gmail.com.
